I am very proud of this piece. 

I have always loved bald eagles and nature is the greatest inspiration for my art. 

I wanted every part of this project to be made of hardwoods. The backer is a mosaic pattern made from ambrosia maple. The mountains are made from walnut and the trees from ambrosia maple. 

For the eagle, I used walnut, maple and teak. 

I used my scroll saw to hand cut the eagle, mountains and trees. After shaping/sanding, everything got a good bath in wood oil, even the double walnut frame. 

I put my full heart into this one.
